Outlook 2011 CE Speaker

Invitation Request Guidelines

Are you a university professor, informal educator, pharmacy practitioner, or other member of the “community of pharmacy” interested in receiving an invitation to speak at the largest state-wide pharmacy convention?

If so, the Pharmacy Foundation of California (PFC) and California Pharmacists Association (CPhA) ask that you submit a request to be invited to present an educational lecture or hands-on workshop at Outlook 2011 in Palm Springs, California, February 10 - 13.

To submit your request, please read the following guidelines, complete the Outlook 2011 CE Speaker Invitation Request Form, and submit all of the required information on or before June 4, 2010.

Proposal Criteria

To be considered, individuals must propose a CE program that:

• Totals 1.5 hours or 2 hours in length (including time for Q&A).

• Is relevant to the practice of pharmacy and related to one or more of the following:

a.      The scientific knowledge or technical skills required for the practice of pharmacy.

b.      Direct and/or indirect patient care.

c.      The management and operation of a pharmacy practice.

Please note: Self-improvement courses (i.e. personal growth, changes in attitude, self-awareness, financial planning, etc.) will not be considered for CE unless it is clearly stated how it would be applicable to the practice of pharmacy.

Submission of Request

Submission via the web is the preferred method.  To complete the on-line Outlook 2011 CE Speaker Invitation Request Form, click here.

If you are unable to submit this information via the web, please email Shannon Presidio at spresidio@pharmacyfoundation.org to obtain an electronic copy of the form which you can complete and email back to her with all of the required information.

For full consideration, all materials must be received by June 4, 2010.  Late submissions will be considered on a space-available basis only and, if selected, may not appear in the conference registration or promotional materials.

Review Process

An educational advisory committee will review submitted requests and make recommendations for  invited speakers based on a variety of factors including educational value, subject matter relevance, speaker expertise, and overall “fit” within the Outlook program.  Space is limited, and unfortunately, not all invitation requests are able to be honored.

All individuals requesting an invitation will be notified by July 9, 2010, regarding the status of their request.  At that time, successful applicants will be provided with a formal invitation to speak at Outlook 2011, along with a speaker contract and other forms necessary for the coordination of their program.  All other individuals be placed on our waiting list and, in the event that a space on the schedule becomes available, will be re-considered for an invitation to speak.
